Richard Provencher, DDFO
U.S. Department of Energy Idaho Operations Office

Richard Provencher, DOE-ID, is the deputy manager for the Idaho Cleanup Project and, as such, is responsible for the Environmental Management (EM) Programs at the INL, including an annual budget of $450 million. He was named the designated deputy federal official (DDFO) for the INL EM CAB in January 2004. Prior to coming to Idaho, Mr. Provencher was the director of the Miamisburg Closure Project in Ohio. He was responsible for cleanup at the Mound Site to prepare it to be used as a high technology business park. From 1989 to 1998, Mr. Provencher worked at the West Valley Demonstration Project (New York) in the deputy director position, serving as the site's spokesman and participating in the design, construction, safety evaluation, and operation of the project's vitrification process.
